Answer:
Based on John Dewey's idea that a traditional classroom is like pouring water from a jug into cups, traditional classroom performs a learning process in which the teacher pours information to student learners. The classroom setting is usually arranged with neat columns and rows of chairs while the teacher stands in front or sits behind her desk reading the texts contain in the book in front of the class. Though it maintains classroom discipline and convenience for the teacher in controlling the classroom, it is still not the precise way because after spending so many minutes, the student learner's attention is no longer focusing on the teacher due to boredom, restlessness, tiredness and drowsiness. The student learners remain as passive recipients of information given by their teacher and viceversa , the teacher is considered as the sole provider of information.

Answer:
Student Centered learning classroom is a setting which performs the learning process with the help of I CT's and educational theory such as constructivism and cooperative learning. Desiring to gain effectiveness, efficiency and economy in administration and instruction is the basis of having this type of approach. The student learners do not remain passive recipients of information instead, they now become active learners who can interact with other learners and demonstrate independence and self-awareness in the learning process. Generally, there is a departure from traditional instruction and an arrival of a more flexible and constructive way of classroom instruction. Though it's modernizing the way of teaching but still the teacher is and will always be the facilitator,hence, he or she is irreplaceable.

The computer provides huge amount of information in various ways such as text. graphics, sound and video.Trough internet, computer can provide enormous database from which users can access global and updated information resources namely latest news, weather forecast, sports development and even educational information for today's learners.Computers with an internet connection can be an educational resource, through Internet In Education.

As a Communication tool

Computers serve as an informative tool not just in downloading relevant information but also in the composition of a presentation project on a certain subject as may be assigned by teacher. Internet can be a channel for global communication, thus, the computer can very well be the key tool for video teleconferencing sessions.

As a Constructive tool

The computer itself can be used for manipulating information, visualizing one's understanding and building new knowledge. For an instance, MS computer program itself is a desktop publishing software that allows users to construct and organize, then present their ideas in attractive formats.

As a Co-constructive tool

Learners can use constructive tools to work cooperatively and construct a
shared understanding of new knowledge. One use of co-construction is the use of electronic whiteboards where students may posts notices to a shared document and it can even be edited at home.


As Situating tool

Through virtual reality (RS) extension systems, the computer can create 3-D images on display to give the user a virtual environment feeling. A flight simulation program is an example of situating tool which places the user in a simulated flight environment.
Multi-User Domains, MUD Object-oriented and Multi-User Shared hallucination are examples of situating systems.

Answer: “Computer-assisted instruction” (CAI) refers to instruction or remediation presented on a computer. Many educational computer programs are available online and from computer stores and textbook companies. They enhance teacher instruction in several ways.

Computer programs are interactive and can illustrate a concept through attractive animation, sound, and demonstration. They allow students to progress at their own pace and work individually or problem solve in a group. Computers provide immediate feedback, letting students know whether their answer is correct. If the answer is not correct, the program shows students how to correctly answer the question. Computers offer a different type of activity and a change of pace from teacher-led or group instruction.

MICROSOFT EXCEL-Spreadsheet Software: Excel, Lotus 1-2-3 and Apple Numbers are some examples of spreadsheet software. Spreadsheet software allows users to perform calculations. They simulate paper worksheets by displaying multiple cells that make up a grid.
PRESENTATION SOFTWARE: The software that is used to display information in the form of a slide show is known as presentation software. This type of software includes three functions, namely, editing that allows insertion and formatting of text, methods to include graphics in the text and a functionality of executing the slide shows. Microsoft PowerPoint is the best example of presentation software.

VLC MEDIA PLAYER:Multimedia Software: They allow the users to create and play audio and video media. They are capable of playing media files. Audio converters, players, burners, video encoders and decoders are some forms of multimedia software. Examples of this type of software include Real Player and Media Player.

My Insights in Educational Technology

SUMMARY:
After almost 5 months of studying this subject, a lot of new things has come to further equipped me as a future teacher. The subject covers 10 topics. First is the Meaning of Educational Technology. Educational Technology is the application of inventions and discoveries to satisfy our educational needs i.e learning. Lesson 2 is all about "Technology,boon or bane?". Technology is very useful because it makes our works easier and faster. But if not used properly it can hinder our development and can break relationships. It can also be a detriment to our moral development. Technology has two roles; from the traditional point of view, it serves as a presenter of knowledge where we can learn from. On the other hand, the constructivist point of view, technology is a learning tool where we can learn with.
Lesson 4 talks about the systematic approach to teaching. In teaching it should start with the determining of objectives, follows the choosing of appropriate method, experiences,and materials,. Then assigning of personnel and implementation of the instruction. Next is the evaluating the outcomes so that you can measure how far your students learned from your discussion. If flaws are found, the teacher could refine the objectives for better learning.
The Cone of experience in Lesson 5 tackles about the different experiences that the teacher could give to his students. Lesson 6 emphasizes the PPPF which tackles about the correct usage and evaluation of instructional materials. Lesson 7 discusses about the direct purposeful experiences or the first hand experiences which serves as the foundation of learning. The next lesson which follows is about the contrived experiences or the edited copies of reality which is used as substitute for a real thing that cannot be brought to the class.Examples are mock up, model, specimen, object, simulation and games. On the other hand lesson 9 discusses about the dramatized experiences which covers the formal plays, pageants, tableau, pantomime, puppets and role playing. The last topic is all about demonstrations which is showing how a thing is done.

SYNTHESIS:
All the topics are essential and very informative although there is something which I couldn't forget until this point in time. That is Educational technology. It is really helpful to teachers so with students because it can aid the teaching and learning process. Technology which is the use of inventions and discoveries helps the students to achieve their greatest goal which is learning. And that as teachers we should be systematic in all walks of life because in our struggle for knowledge we should be systematic road. And that as teachers we should not limit ourselves in one approach, we should use a conglomeration of approaches in every subject and in every group of students.

APPLICATION:

As would be teachers, Educational technology could greatly help us in our teaching. Equipped with the knowledge on how to use the technology in teaching, we should promote to our students the trend of learning in the modern era. It should not be enough to just know something but on how to use what you know.

Lesson 5: The Cone of Experience


Summary:


The Cone is a visual analogy, and like all analogies, it does not bear an exact and detailed relationship to the complex elements it represents...-Edgar Dale.


Insights:

The Cone of experience shows the different experiences that can be used in order for the child to learn. The biggest portion is the direct purposeful experiences going up to the verbal symbols.This is arrange according to abstraction and not according to difficulty.

Application:

The cone of experience could be used by teachers in teaching the student. If you could remember one step in the process of systematic approach to teaching is the choosing of appropriate materials and that could give the students learning at its best.In choosing, the teacher should take in consideration the method to be used wherein the materials would be based.

Lesson 4: Systematic Approach to Teaching


Summary:


Teaching is not just a simple job. He or she must be systematic. This means that a teacher must follow a step-by-step process in order to effect learning. The focus of the systematic instructional planning is the student.

Insights:


As teachers we should be systematic in giving our discussion so that there would be a smooth flow in tackling the lesson.First, there must be a clear objectives to be the basis of how you will give the lesson,next would be choosing what approach or method,then experiences and materials to be used. After that the teacher assign roles for the students to participate.Then here comes the instruction proper. After the instruction the teacher follow ups if the students had learned or not.If not, then the objectives must be improved.

Application:

The systematic approach in teaching would be a great help in the teaching-learning process.So the teacher must be systematic so that the discussion would be well-organized and there would be a productive time in the classroom.

Lesson 3: The Roles of Educational Technology in Learning


Summary:


Traditional Point of View:
Technology serves as a source and presenter of knowledge.

Modern/Constructivist Point of View:
Educational technology serves as learning tools that learners learn with not from.

When used effectively, research indicates that technology increases students' learning, understanding and achievement but it also augments motivation to learn, encourages collaborative learning and supports the development of critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Insights:
Educational technology plays a vital role in students learning. It arouse interest of the students in order for them to learn. The technology being used by teachers help students understanding.

Application:

As future teachers, we can use various educational medias in order for the discussion to be active. After using the technology there must be evaluation in order to test their understanding regarding a certain matter and to measure whether the students would have a concrete experiences which would be the basis of their learning.

Lesson 2:Technology: Boon or Bane


Summary:


Technology is a blessing for man. With technology, there is a lot that we can do which we could not do then. Technology is made for the teacher and not the teacher for technology. It is very helpful but if not used properly, technology becomes a detriment to learning and development.

Good effect:

*Technology contributes to the development and improvement of the teaching-learning process and to the humanization of life.


It has bad effects if not used properly:

*it can destroy relationships
*it can erode marital relationship
*for those who surfs porno in the internet, it affects their moral life

Insights:

With the technology our works becomes easier and faster. In fact almost all the things we used are product of technology. The point is we should be responsible and accountable of our actions.We must not abused the technology to the extent that it hinders the achievement of our dreams and deteriorates our eagerness to learn.

Application:

As a future teacher, we should teach our students to be well-verse with computers because it can help them a lot in their students and to broaden their knowledge and understanding of a lesson or subject. But we should not let them to google most of their time on it that will cause them to be less active in school. There should be balance of everything so that there would be harmony and so that we can live a worthy and fulfilling life.

Lesson 1: The Meaning of Educational Technology

There are many definitions of educational technology. Before we can fully understand it we must first find the meaning of technology. Technology refers to all the ways people use their inventions to satisfy their needs.So from it we can define Educational Technology, it is the art or craft of responding to our educational needs.

There are still many definitions of Ed.Tech as follows:

*use of all human inventions and discoveries to satisfy our educational needs and desires i.e. learning.
*devices, tools, equipments, educational media, activities, procedures and processes.
*instructional technology
*application of technology in the educative process that takes place in such educational institution.

Insights:

Educational Technology as an invention has a great role to do in the process of teaching and learning as well. Educational technology is a great help in order for us teachers to be and students for now to learn faster and better through the trend of the developing technology.

Application:

Educational Technology can be used when we will become teachers. Our job would be easier because we would not bring some works at home which are very tiring. We can use computers, projectors,internet and other educational media in order to facilitate learning in the most effective way. It would be a good start for us to try this educational technology in order for our learners to be technologically updated and globally competent.
